“He who walks with the wise, shall be wise, But the companion of fools suffers evil.”
Several days ago, I played a game of chess with our oldest child. I haven’t played chess with him in over a year, but I decided to give it a go. I was aware that he’s been playing chess daily with the adults in our home for several weeks, but I wasn’t aware that his chess skills had increased substantially!
Needless to say, I was very humbled by his abilities. It brought to memory an influencial teaching I heard years ago by Jonathan Lindvall at Bold Christian Living. Click below to hear the message titled “Dare to Shelter”.

This experience confirmed our conviction of many years to provide opportunities for our children to be surrounded by “wise” individuals and glean from their wisdom. It truly blesses me when righteous adults clearly articulate their passion of history and current events with our oldest son. These are great memories that he can carry with him through adulthood.
