We had a wonderful Shabbat visiting with the J & H family.
We had a group study about the Sabbath ( http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/7777306 )and another study about Marriage ( http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/7790273 ). We continued on later and had an open Bible study about heaven, clean foods, etc. During circle time with the children we prayed, did some singing, Scripture recitation, and cultural studies. We also practiced the "10 Words (commandments)". There is a game that our friend "E" taught us about The 10 Words & I hope to eventually post it on the exploringhebrew site. Our Scripture Reading was from Bereshith (Gen) 37:1-40:23, Amos 2:6-3:8 and Ma'asei (Acts). Once again we had a blessed Shabbat with great fellowship, feasting & study of the Scriptures The girls were sewing the "alephbeyt" onto stiff, clear plastic canvas. Our friend "E" shared this with us while we visited her family. You can create pencil holders, blocks or even book markers. "E" also shared a game to match "The 10 Words (Commandments." I hope to share this game in a future post. In the meantime you can enjoy the picture of the game at the bottom. Shemoth (Exo) 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart. Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath1 of יהוה your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days יהוה made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart." Wayyiqra (Lev) 23:2-3 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these: ‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה in all your dwellings. " Yeshayahu (Isa)58:13-14 “If you do turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My set-apart day, and shall call the Sabbath ‘a delight,’ the set-apart day of יהוה ‘esteemed,’ and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, Isa 58:14 then you shall delight yourself in יהוה. And I shall cause you to ride on the heights of the earth, and feed you with the inheritance of Yaʽaqoḇ your father. For the mouth of יהוה has spoken!” Archives
